Short-notice bookings (within 4 weeks) require full payment upfront.

If your booking is placed more than 45 days before the wedding, you have a 14-day cooling-off period to cancel and receive a full refund, provided that no bespoke work has begun. After this period, the booking fee is non-refundable.

2. Cancellations & Postponements

All booking fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Less than 4 weeks before: 100% of the total amount is retained.

-
Postponements:

The first date change is free of charge (subject to availability).

If your new date is unavailable, this will be treated as a cancellation.
-

3. Consultations & Taster Boxes
-
One bespoke consultation and taster box is included with each confirmed booking.
-
Additional consultations or significant design changes may incur additional charges.
-
If you cancel your booking after receiving a taster box, the cost is non-refundable.

4. Design & Creative Licence
-
All cakes are individually handcrafted and inspired by your brief. Exact replicas of other designs will not be produced.
-
Minor design variations may occur due to seasonal availability or creative discretion.
-
Dummy tiers are available and charged from £75 per tier.
-
All cake designs remain the intellectual property of Kimberly Jayne Cake Design. Clients may not reproduce, replicate, or request another baker to copy our work.

5. Allergies & Ingredients
-
Cakes can be made without gluten, dairy or animal products upon request.
-
All cakes are produced in a kitchen that handles nuts, wheat, dairy, and other allergens.
-
It is your responsibility to inform your guests of any allergen risks.

6. Delivery & Setup
-
Delivery and setup is mandatory for all wedding cakes and is quoted based on venue location.
-
Once delivered and assembled, responsibility transfers to the venue or client.
-
We require access to a level, secure display area away from direct heat or sunlight.
-
The client must ensure a suitable table or stand is provided. If unsuitable, an alternative location may be chosen at our discretion.

7. Cake Stands, Flowers & Non-Edible Items
-
A selection of premium cake stands is available to hire. See: https://www.kimmiscakes.co.uk/cakestandhire
-
If providing your own stand or using a venue stand, it must be level and safe. We reserve the right to refuse to use an unsuitable stand.
-
Fresh flowers must be provided by your florist. They should be left at the venue, in water, ready for application.
-
Fresh flowers must be food-safe and non-toxic. While we take care to handle them hygienically, we are not liable for contamination from unsafe or unsuitable floral choices.
-
Cakes may include non-edible decorations such as dowels, wires, flower picks or toppers. These must be removed before serving.

8. Weather & Environmental Conditions
-
Cakes should be displayed in a cool, shaded, air-conditioned space wherever possible.
-
During hot weather, buttercream and semi-naked cakes are chilled overnight and delivered in a temperature-controlled vehicle.
-
Once setup is complete and photos are taken, Kimberly Jayne Cake Design accepts no liability for temperature-related changes.

9. Storage & Consumption
-
Fondant cakes: store at room temperature away from sunlight and heat. Do not refrigerate unless advised.
-
Buttercream cakes: refrigerate and bring to room temperature 1 hour before serving.
-
All cakes are best consumed within 48 hours of delivery. We are not liable for the quality of cakes consumed after this period.

10. Damages & Liability
-
We are not responsible for damage caused by third-party handling, unsuitable stands, or environmental conditions after setup.
-
If damage occurs after delivery or setup, contact us immediately. We will try to rectify it if possible. Any work may be subject to additional fees.
-
If a third party attempts to fix an issue before contacting us, no compensation will be offered.

11. Refunds
-
Due to the bespoke nature of wedding cakes, no refunds are offered once the cake is delivered unless there is proven fault on our part.
-
If a refund is agreed upon, it will be partial and based on photographic evidence submitted within 12 hours of delivery.
-
Once the cake is cut or served, it is considered accepted and fit for purpose.

12. Complaints
-
If you are unhappy with your wedding cake for any reason, please notify us within 12 hours of delivery or setup.
-
All complaints must be made in writing to info@kimberlyjaynecakedesign.co.uk and must include photographs showing the issue.
-
If damage occurs after the cake has been cut, moved, or served, no compensation can be offered.
-
If you involve a third party to alter or repair the cake before notifying us, we are unable to accept responsibility or offer compensation.
-
If your complaint relates to taste or texture, at least 75% of the cake must be returned within 24 hours for assessment.
-
We ask that clients give us the opportunity to resolve any complaint in writing before sharing concerns publicly or on social media.

13. Force Majeure
-
We are not liable for delays or non-performance due to events beyond our control (illness, accidents, extreme weather, transport failure, etc.).
-
If we are unable to fulfil your booking, all payments will be refunded and we will assist in finding a suitable replacement.

14. Photography & Marketing
-
We reserve the right to photograph your cake and use images for marketing purposes, including social media, website content, and printed materials.
-
Personal client information will never be shared publicly.
